Tenzin Dolma set herself ablaze at around 12 noon in the courtyard of a community temple in Tsemo region of Rebkong, Eastern Tibet. Sources reported that she died at the scene. She had earlier performed prayers and rituals in the prayer hall and left behind her cellphone and rings.
Tibetans from around the region reportedly started gathering in Tsemo upon hearing news of the self-immolation protest to prepare for a grand funeral. Monks from Rongwo Monastery conducted the main prayers for the cremation ceremony.
Tenzin Dolma is survived by her parents, Bhulo (50) and Tashi Dolma (41).
