Tsering Dhondup set himself on fire at Gyagar Thang near the entrance to a mining site in Amchok region of Labrang Sangchu, Eastern Tibet. His action was an apparent protest against China’s continuing occupation of Tibet.
Tsering Dhondup succumbed to his injuries at the site of his protest. He is survived by his wife, Tamding Tso, their three children, and his parents, Lubhum Gyal and Drukmo Tso.
